Weyarn, Germany

About 24 miles southeast of Munich on the A8 Autobahn is a bridge that spans the Mangfall River Valley near the municipality of Weyarn. This impressive 1,082 foot long and 223 foot tall road bridge was completed in 1935 on the stretch of Autobahn that connects Munich and Salzburg. The bridge was blown up by retreating German forces in April of 1945. After the war the bridge was rebuilt with a third pylon on each support to accommodate the widened road.
