Donzère is a commune of the Drôme department in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. Donzère is known for its gorge, which is the last shrinkage of the Rhône valley before its course joins the Mediterranean Sea. The photos on this page were taken from a train as the members of the 347th Ordnance Depot Company traveled south to the Mediterranean before sailing home. The suspension bridge spanning the Rhône River is nicknamed "Robinet Bridge" and was built in 1847. This bridge along with the nearby obelisk are still standing today.
